Build IT Together 2015 is only a couple months away, and it’s going to be a big one. Build IT Together began in 2013, and has quickly grown into one of the biggest yearly highlights of the Michigan tech & IT community. This May will mark the third annual event, and it’s going to be bigger than ever.
Build IT Together Doubles, again!
Build IT Together began as 35 minds from around Michigan, gathering to learn, connect, and cultivate a community. The goal had always been to grow, and in 2014 the event doubled to nearly 80 attendees! After seeing all the value and feedback from each year’s event, we’ve decided to aim for an even bigger goal—to bring together 150+ IT and tech professionals on May 13th, 2015—and we want you to be part of it!
More speakers, because you asked for it
When Build IT Together first began, it was about helping Kalamazoo to understand what Newmind Group does—it wasn’t as immersive and valuable as we’d prefer, but it did help introduce people to new technology and innovation.
Feedback told us that it wasn’t valuable enough, so in 2014 we invited tech experts all over Michigan, and from different industries to share their experiences. Attendees were exposed to a wider range of perspectives and topics than we could have possibly offered ourselves—from mobile apps in business, to big data, to shadow IT—all because we listened to the community!
This year we’ve listened to the feedback again, and learned that the community wants more! More IT stories, more topics, and more attendees.
Bringing in one expert to speak on a contentious topic is great, but what if we were able to bring together more? Why not hold panels instead of single-speaker sessions, and allow for multiple industry perspective on the same topic?
This year’s event will have panels of 3-5 speakers for each topic session—boosting our number of speakers from 4 to 12 or more. That’s 300% growth!
Build IT Together is for all IT professionals and you represent many different organizations. In the past two years, we’ve seen not only attendance double, but also the number of organizations involved increase from 18 in 2013 to almost 40 in 2014! Check out who’s already involved this year:
